Weekly Newsletter- August 31

Dear Parents & Students,

We had a wonderful week. I want to say a big thank you for coming to Open House. I enjoyed having a chance to meet and talk with you. My students loved showing you their desks and self-portraits. If you did not get a chance to come, but you would like to meet just send me an email or note.

We have had an exciting week of learning. This week we started CBM testing. We will finish the testing by Tuesday. This is a test that each teacher does to show where each child is in reading and writing. Next week, we will will continue to cover animal classification. In math, we will begin with lesson 9. Please continue to practice the multiplication tables with your child. We will be working on Multiplication Table 4 this week. In writing, we reviewed the 4 types of sentences. Ask your child to tell you the 4 types and what sound they make. We also learned how to find the subject and the predicate in each sentence. Ask your child to tell you the secret code for locating the predicate. In history, we will be going over Arizona State History. In science, we will continue animal classification.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at mandienschool@yahoo.com or mwallace@lpatucson.org.
