Dear Parents and Students,
Wow! I can't believe there are only 4 weeks left. I sent home progress reports last week. I still need some students to bring in the signed paper. Tuesday is the final due date for the paper to be signed and turned in to me.
We are planning to finish our math books by Friday. We will continue having review lessons over the next 3 weeks. I also want to introduce a few new concepts that they will learn in 5th grade. This class has been great, and we have exceeded my goals this year. In reading, we will start with chapter 11 in our Holes book. They will have some reading homework this week for the book. In science, we will be be going over the body in Chapter 13. We will start this week studying lesson 4. We will have spelling words and vocab words from our Holes book.
This year is winding down fast. Please make sure your child turns in all homework on time. This is super important. I don't want the next 3 weeks to be a waste of time. Let's use the next 3 weeks as a springboard into 5th grade. Let's give it all we've got.
If you have any questions or concerns, contact me at mandienschool@yahoo.com.
Thank you,
Mrs. Wallace

Newsletter Aims Week
Dear Parents and Students,
AIMS Testing begins this week. This is a super important week for your child and our school. In order to be successful on this test, students need adequate rest, full tummies, and an alert mind. Please make sure that your child goes to bed earlier this week. There will be no homework this to make sure that students have no excuse to stay up late.
During the aims week, we will be doing several different experiments in class. I will need your help bringing in items for the experiments. Also, we will need healthy snacks for this week. The only required item that each student needs to bring is a white t-shirt in their size. We will be making “I Survived the Aims Test” T-shirts. We will wear these on the following Monday and take a picture.
Thank you for all the responses for the items we will need in class. I will send home a list today or tomorrow listing the things that we still need. I can already tell you that only one person has signed up to bring T-Shirt paint. We will need this by Tuesday in order to start our shirts.
Thank you,
Mrs. Wallace

Dear Parents and Students,
Happy Monday! I hope that all of you had a wonderful weekend.
Although last week was a short week, we accomplished several things. We focused on Aims review and finished CBM testing. We will begin with Math Lesson 85 this week. We will also finish reading the book Double Fudge. In English, we will then be going over rules for adding commas. In science, we will start talking about simple machines. In history/geography, we will going over how to read different types of maps. We will also continue practicing for the aims test. We will take time out each day for about 10 minutes to go over flashcards. We will also take about an hour each Friday to review. This is the time to drill those multiplication and division flashcards at home. Success cannot be achieved through class work only. We must work together to help your child succeed and meet the goals that are set before them.
I look forward to a wonderful week of learning. Check the link for the upcoming events. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at mandienschool@yahoo.com or call me at school. Also, don’t forget to check out the blog.
